The city of Lausanne has been dubbed «a beautiful peasant girl who has acquired a taste for the arts and the humanities». On this guided walking tour you’ll understand why. You’ll visit the busy Saturday market, where the scent of local produce mingles with the smell of exotic spices and flowers, climb the infamously steep hillside to the historic old town and its soaring gothic cathedral, see some very old and some very modern architecture, get plenty of spectacular views over Lake Geneva and the Savoyard Alps in the distance, and experience a unique mixture of contemporary and traditional, international and local, busy and laid back, urban and rural.
