Annette Boaz
Professor Boaz graduated with a degree in Politics from the University of Durham. She also completed a Masters in Social Research at the University of Oxford and a doctorate in Politics at Queen Mary, University of London. She is currently Professor of Health Care Research and St George’s University of London and Kingston University. Prior to her current role she has worked at the universities of Oxford, Warwick, Queen Mary, University of London and Kings College London. She also completed a secondment to the Policy Research Programme at the UK Department of Health. She has spent more than 20 years exploring the relationship between research, policy and practice in the UK and internationally. Until recently she was joint Managing Editor of the international journal Evidence & Policy. She has conducted research for a range of funders including the UK National Institute for Health Research, the Medical Research Council and the European Commission. She is a member of the World Health Organisation European Advisory Committee on Health Research. With Huw Davies, Sandra Nutley and Alec Fraser she has edited a new book ‘What Works Now: Evidence Informed Policy and Practice’ which was published in March 2019.
