Germán Fajardo
Dr. Germán Fajardo is a surgeon from Mexico City, graduated from the School of Medicine at La Salle University (ULSA), specialist in Otorhinolaryngology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the General Hospital of Mexico. He has held positions such as General Director of the Hospital "Doctor Manuel Gea González" and Deputy Minister of Integration and Development of Mexico’s Ministry of Health. In 2017 he was appointed President of the Latin American Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine (ALAFEM) and is the current director of the Faculty of Medicine at UNAM. Dr. Fajardo has published more than 136 articles in the areas of Medical Education, Otorhinolaryngology, quality of care, patient safety, influenza A (H1N1), as well as training and planning of human resources for health. He is also the author, co-author and / or co-editor of 33 books and 22 chapters. He was Associate Director of the magazine Archives of Medical Research where he is currently a member of the editorial committee, as well as serving on the editorial committee of the British Medical Journal Open Access.
