Luis Quevedo

Luis Quevedo is an award-winning Spanish filmmaker, podcaster [Premio Ondas 2018], TV producer and personality. A former scientist turned communicator, after moving to New York in 2010, he pioneered NPR's blog and podcast "Science Friday en Español" and directed and hosted CST, a Spanish language daily science, health and technology TV show broadcasting across the Americas. He’s been Managing Director of the Imagine Science Films Festival in New York, produced with support from Google, Nature, and Science, and co-creator of CUNY’s Social Gradient Podcast, a program about science, health and education for minorities. He was the US science correspondent for Spain’s El Mundo newspaper. He’s taught communication at Columbia, Georgetown, Yale, Mount Sinai and Pompeu Fabra Universities. Luis has been distinguished as a Minority Fellow of the US National Association of Science Writers and mentor of the AAAS Mass Media Fellows. As entrepreneur, Luis is co-founder of Cuonda, a Spanish-language podcast network and studio singled out by Google’s DNI Fund. Since 2017 he’s been a host and contributor to Spain’s National TV “La 1”, Telecinco, CERO and Telemadrid.
