Eva Wolfangel
Eva Wolfangel is an award winning German science and reportage journalist and a moderator. She writes for most of the big magazines and newspapers in Germany and Switzerland (ZEIT, GEO, Spiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Republik and others) and produces radio features. In 2018 she was awarded European Science Writer of the Year 2018 by the Association of British Science Writers (ABSW). Her focus is on future technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, computer science, data journalism, interaction between digital and real worlds, and space travel. Her speciality is to combine creative writing and technical topics in order to reach a broad audience. In addition, Eva tests new technologies in innovative projects for their benefits for journalism. With the data journalism project DebateExplorer, she and computer linguists have investigated the potential of artificial intelligence and text mining for investigative journalism. Eva is co-founder of the multiple award-winning cooperative reef reporter (riffreporter.de) for freelance journalism, where she is currently setting up her project "VR-Reporterin", which both reports from and about virtual reality.
