Andreas Kortenkamp is a Professor of Human Toxicology at Brunel University with strong research interests in assessing the combined effects of multiple chemicals on endocrine diseases. Author of the 2009 state-of-the-art report on mixture toxicity - when the toxicity of a mixture of chemicals is greater than the toxicity of each individual chemical - for the European Commission calling for "consistent and clear" mandates for taking mixture toxicity into account in legislation. His warning has not been heeded.
