Ehsan Masood is a science and policy journalist based in London. He was editor of Research Fortnight from 2009 to 2017 and before that worked in writing and editing roles at Nature and New Scientist. He is at present working on a documentary for BBC radio which will tell the stories of the last surviving academics who fell victim to McCarthyism in 1950s America. Ehsan has written a number of books, including The Great Invention (Pegasus, 2016) which tells the story of how GDP (Gross Domestic Product) became the world’s most powerful formula; and Science and Islam: a History (Icon, 2018), which was tied to a series of BBC TV and radio programmes. Ehsan has taught science communication at Imperial College London for more than 10 years. During 2017/18 he was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
